BAR HOPPER      Seven spends a lot of time in bars, taverns and dance clubs. He's there to people-watch and, if he's lucky enough, get stuck into something that piques his interest—whether it's a job, a fight, or a good time. Your character may recognize him as a local at their favourite drinking spot, or notice him there for the first time.NEVER SAY NO      His best (and worst) feature is his inability to back down from a challenge or bet. Whether it's a fight, a new experience, or something completely mundane, it is easy to spur Seven into action. Your character may notice this fervor about him, and goad him into shenanigans. Similarly, if your character has something Seven wants, it's likely that he'll do whatever it takes to get it.LIAR      Seven is charismatic and radiates an innate warmth of expression and countenance. Whether this is real or fabricated, however, is difficult to tell. It is hard to get a direct answer out of Seven. But, if pressed, his answers to questions about himself range from the improbable to the nonsensical. He is someone who chooses his words carefully, but pretends not to be. If your character spends an extended amount of time in his company, they may notice that the things he says don't always add up. DRIFTER      Seven has a penchant for floating in and out of existence to everyone around him, always seeming to be coming or going without a solid concept of where he’s been. He’s the type of person to disappear from a gathering without a goodbye, or appear without an invitation. If your character has a habit of noticing things, they may realise Seven is chronically restless, and doesn't linger anywhere too long.

CRIMINAL      Seven has, for the large majority of his life, fallen into a criminal lifestyle. Whether it is the allure of danger, the promise of wealth, or simply resorting to what he knows, somehow he finds himself frequently enmeshed in seedy dealings of all sorts. There isn't anything Seven will say no to getting involved in if it pays enough. If your character is a low or mid tier criminal operating in Ul'dah, or Ul'dahn law enforcement, it is very likely that they have had a run-in with him on occasion. CALL GIRL      For over a decade, Seven has found himself in and out of sex work in a cyclical fashion. It is something he knows he can do well when needed, and becomes easy money to fuel his more expensive habits. Your character may be a client of his, both long-term or for a single encounter. Or, your character may simply recognize him as a bystander.DRUGS      Seven is both a user and seller of hard drugs. It's a habit he hasn't managed to shake, but he's convinced it doesn't effect him all that much if he ignores the shaking of his hands and the fuzzy feeling of being off his game when he isn't using. If your character is a user, they may have bought drugs from him. If your character is a seller, he may have bought from them.AETHER      Seven's signature is not particularly remarkable. It is not aspected towards any one particular element and remains at a relatively stagnant level, indicating that it goes largely under-utilized. Its hue ebbs inconsistently between a dark, muted maroon and bright, vibrant crimson. Most noticeably, it evokes the intense feeling of burning ambition and a pervasive restlessness that refuses to be quelled. If your character is aether-sensitive, it would be hard for them not to notice the ambition and determination his aether burns hot with.

o1.    THE cold start

I. The Skatay Range: Seven was born in the frigid mountains of the Skatay Range, and he lived an unremarkably ordinary life for a time. As his body began to change and mature, his idyllic life grew into a tumultuous one. A shift in his physiology made way for a shift in the way his people viewed him, which in turn, made way for a shift in how he viewed his people. He left the mountains a few short years later, stealing away into the night without a goodbye.II. Yanxia: Several weeks of travel later, Seven had found himself in a rural Yanxian village where he spent several years living a modest life with a small community of farmers. He came to view them as his own family, and he loved them dearly. After hearing whisperings of what lay beyond Yanxia, it was not long before Seven became enamored by the idea of continuing his travels. He packed the meager belongings he had amassed one breezy morning and left with the winter winds nipping at his heels. He has not returned since.

III. Kugane: Upon stepping foot in Kugane, Seven was at a loss. The hustle and bustle was unlike anything he had experienced before and he struggled to find his footing in such a busy trade city. He picked up skills through trial and error, and run-ins with the Sekiseigumi. He learned to pickpocket and, most importantly—a far cry from the naive viera he once was—he learned the value of his own beauty. Seven discovered quickly that selling his body for the right price was the fastest means to a meal; be it for something as benign as a sympathetic conversation partner, or for more salacious reasons. He made his home in the beds of strangers but within this facsimile of intimacy, the seed of envy began to sprout.IV. Nana-gumi: Over time, Seven had settled into his line of work and built a rapport with his regulars—many of whom were criminals or low-ranking yakuza. He listened to them unload the burden of their families and their crimes. Along the way, Seven realized that it was precisely the life he wanted for himself. He coveted their stories and bade his time until the day would come that he could reach out and pluck a piece of Kugane’s underbelly for himself. He devoted himself to the idea of starting his own yakuza family. He used the information he’d gleaned from clients about what works and what doesn’t and learned secondhand from their experiences for the day he would make his move. Within the humble confines of a smoky apartment some several years later, Nana-gumi was born. He committed himself fully to their success, and would not stop until its success had been achieved.

o3.    stagnation

V. Aftermath: Nana-gumi was successful for a time. For close to two years, they grew in number—slowly accumulating wealth and influence through hard work and dedication. That is, until a rival family attacked their headquarters and spelled their downfall. They outnumbered Nana-gumi, and the tide quickly turned in their favour. Seven, realising that his family had lost, fled in the heat of battle, leaving his surviving family and Kugane behind.VI. Ul'dah: Several months later, he appeared again as if nothing had happened—this time in Eorzea. He has not made contact with Nana-gumi since, nor does he intend to. For now, he is simply content to remain at square one, possibly biding his time for whatever might come next.
